Core Module Project

In June 2005, the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill Library received a grant from the Andrew W. Mellon Foundation for the creation of the Core Module of the Russia Beyond Russia Digital Library (RBR). The completed project will include an open source based searching and indexing engine and database that will provide access to the research conducted by André Savine on the post-1917 Russian Diaspora. Project work began in September 2005 and will be completed in fall 2007. As work on the project progresses, access to information in the RBR Core Module will be available online in the Prototype Version even before the database is ready in its entirety.
